As an organisation which was established by volunteers, Swabhiman values all its volunteers – their commitment and dedication are the reasons the organization has grown and created an impacted lives of people in Odisha and India.
Our volunteers, from all walks of life, bring passion, energy and experience to complement our staff in addressing the gaps in our society which create discrimination, barriers and isolation. Swabhiman engages volunteers from different backgrounds, exhibiting different skills in its various programmes, projects and campaigns. Anyone who wishes to work with us in voluntary (unpaid) capacity in their free time and at their will can register and work with us as a volunteer. However, such work will definitely throw open many possibilities for volunteers in terms of gaining new skills, experience and recognition. Our volunteers work closely with its staff and as per the guidance, direction and supervision of their respective Supervisors.
Who can register as an Swabhiman Volunteer?
Anyone can register and work as a volunteer with Swabhiman. After you register, your details with be stored in a database. As and when we need of your support, we will notify you.
Working as a research volunteer at Swabhiman is an ideal way for recent graduates to gain experience of work in an academic research centre that is also a think tank, and to do research linked to policy. Past research volunteers have included students in their holidays, postgraduates thinking about continuing their studies to Masters or PhD level, and civil and public servants who work for us part-time.
Who can register as a Research Volunteer?
Applicants will have or be near to completing a degree. The candidates should be highly motivated, have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and have good analytical and writing skills. We regret that full-time students cannot apply, except that we do accept undergraduates who in their summer break. Part-time students are welcome. After you register, your details with be stored in a database. As and when we need of your support, we will notify you.
Swabhiman seeks interns from diverse backgrounds and walks of life having different skill sets. We encourage students and professionals, who have a passion for working for the most marginalised and excluded communities, to apply for internship with us. Who can register as an Intern?
Anyone who is in +3 final year, completed graduation, in PG courses or a fresh masters can register and work as an intern with us.
